The 2025 Summer Camp of the Confucius Institute  at the University of Latvia was Successfully Held / 踏步京广,风雨无阻 —— 2025拉脱维亚大学孔子学院暑期夏令营顺利举行

当地时间7月29日,2025拉脱维亚大学孔子学院暑期夏令营圆满落幕。拉大孔院公派教师徐申、拉大人文学院教师卡琳娜以及来自拉国的20位中文爱好者集结广州、奔赴北京,在台风雨水天踏步而行,共同完成了为期两周的暑期夏令营。

7月15日,夏令营一行动身前往中国广州,并于16日下午顺利抵达。7月18日,夏令营开营仪式在拉大孔院中方合作院校华南师范大学国际文化学院正式举行。华师国际交流合作处副处长赵頔对拉大孔院一行的到来表示热烈欢迎;拉大孔院中方院长何东教授也惊喜现身,以“中文就是未来”为题激情致辞点燃全场气氛;拉大孔院中文学习者万沙白代表全体营员发言,表达了了解中国、学习汉语、结交朋友的诚挚期待。一番亲切的自由交流后,2025夏令营正式开营。

夏令营分为广州、北京两部分。广州期间,营员们置身目的语环境沉浸式学习汉语知识,更为深入地进行了书法、剪纸、武术、京剧脸谱等文化体验,实地考察了广州的人文风情、一日往返佛山感受武行世代传承的风骨以及烧窑制瓷的传统风韵。到了北京,营员们迎来了一场别具一格的文化之旅:爬长城、逛故宫、体验中医把脉问诊、参观中外语言交流合作中心,在天坛祈愿、在首都博物馆领略非遗之美、在街巷胡同里寻找前人生活的足迹。

本次夏令营受中外语言交流合作中心资助,得到了华南师范大学国际交流合作处和国际文化学院的大力支持,是拉大孔院创办以来组织的第八期夏令营活动。

On July 29th local time, the 2025 Summer Camp of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia came to a successful conclusion. Sponsored Chinese teacher Xu Shen from the Confucius Institute, Karina from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia, and 20 Chinese language enthusiasts from Latvia gathered in Guangzhou and then headed to Beijing. They walked through the rain and typhoon, completing a two-week summer camp together.

On July 15th, the campers set off for Guangzhou, China, and arrived safely in the afternoon of July 16th. On July 18th, the opening ceremony of the summer camp was held at the International Culture College of South China Normal University, the Chinese partner of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia. Zhao Di, the deputy director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of South China Normal University, extended a warm welcome to the group from the LU Confucius Institute. Professor He Dong, the Chinese director of the LU Confucius Institute, also made a surprise appearance and delivered a passionate speech titled “Chinese Language is the Future”, igniting the atmosphere. Oleksandra Kolivanova, a Chinese language learner at the Confucius Institute, spoke on behalf of all the campers, expressing their sincere expectations to understand China, learn Chinese, and make friends. After a friendly and free conversation, the 2025 Summer Camp officially began.

The summer camp was divided into two parts: Guangzhou and Beijing. During the Guangzhou period, the campers were immersed in the target language environment to learn Chinese knowledge, and they had a deeper cultural experience in calligraphy, paper-cutting, martial arts, and Peking Opera facial makeup. They also experienced the humanistic and cultural landscapes of Guangzhou, made a one-day trip to Foshan to experience the spirit of martial arts passed down through generations and the traditional charm of kiln firing and porcelain making. In Beijing, the campers embarked on a unique cultural journey: climbing the Great Wall, visiting the Forbidden City, experiencing the traditional Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis and consultation,touring the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, praying at the Temple of Heaven, appreciating the beauty of intangible cultural heritage at the Capital Museum, and exploring the traces of the lives of previous generations in the Hutongs.

This summer camp was funded by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and received strong support from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the International Culture College of South China Normal University. It was the eighth summer camp organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia since its establishment.
