2024 Spring Festival Gala of Confucius Institute at the University  of Latvia Successfully Held拉脱维亚大学孔子学院2024年春节联欢活动成功举办

Firecrackers say to bid farewell to the old year 2023, and golden dragons dance to welcome the new year of 2024. In order to celebrate the arrival of the Chinese Lunar New Year in 2024, the Celebration titled “Welcome the Lunar New Year Lively as Flying Dragons and Leaping Tigers”, hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia(LUCI)and co-organized by the Chinese Alumni Association of Latvia, was successfully held in the auditorium of the main building of the University of Latvia at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm of the local time in Riga on 5th February.

The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Tang Songgen, ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, Valdis Segliņš ,Vice Rector of the University of Latvia, Wang Nan, Director of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Riga, Karina Jermaka, President of the Association of Chinese Students in Latvia, Bao Yongliang, Vice President of the Association of Overseas Chinese , Zhu Lu, Director of the Confucius Institute of the University of Tallinn, as well as all the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute in Latvia, including Prof. Pēteris Pildegovičs, the Latvian Director of the Institute, Prof. He Dong, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, and people from all walks of life in Latvia, nearly 700 people, setting a high in the number of previous events.

At the beginning of the event, the two directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia deliver welcome speeches in both Chinese and Latvian. Then, Ambassador Tang Songgen delivers a speech, introducing the cultural significance of the Chinese New Year of the Dragon, fully affirming the achievements of the Confucius Institute, and places high hopes on the Chinese language teaching in Latvia.

The Chinese Traditional martial arts “Lion Dance” kicks off the joyful celebrations of the Year of Dragon, with songs, dances, guzheng solos, martial arts performances and other 25 programs, which were all applauded by the audience. The guzheng solo “Battle Typhoon”, the fast-paced pop song “The Coolest Ethnic”, and the melodious children’s chorus “The Snail and the Oriole Bird” brings the joy of Chinese New Year to everyone; the triple-play program “As You Wish” with dance, calligraphy and Chinese painting shows he charm of Chinese culture; and the professional-level artistic gymnastics performance and the piano playing and singing of “The Sea of Stars” engages both the mind and the eye.

The event creates a joyful and peaceful new year atmosphere for Chinese people in foreign countries, and also allow more and more Latvians to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture. The Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia will continue to promote the development of international Chinese language education,let the flower of Chinese language blossoms on the shores of the Baltic Sea.

 鞭炮声声辞旧岁,金龙飞舞迎新春。为庆祝2024年春节的到来,里加当地时间2月5日下午五点至八点,由拉脱维亚大学孔子学院主办、拉脱维亚留华同学会协办的题为“龙腾虎跃迎新春”的春节联欢活动在拉脱维亚大学主楼大礼堂顺利举办。

     出席本次活动的有中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆唐松根大使、拉脱维亚大学赛格林什副校长、里加中国文化中心王楠主任、留华同学会卡琳娜会长、华人华侨联合会鲍永亮副会长、爱沙尼亚塔林大学孔子学院朱璐院长等领导和嘉宾,以及拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高教授、中方院长何东教授和孔子学院全体师生等拉脱维亚各界人士共计近700人,再创历届活动人数新高。

    活动伊始,拉脱维亚大学孔子学院二位院长用中拉双语致欢迎词。接着,唐松根大使致辞,介绍了中国龙年春节的文化意义,充分肯定了孔院取得的成就,并对拉脱维亚的汉语教学寄予厚望。

     金狮贺岁报春来。中国传统武术“舞狮”节目,为喜乐欢腾的龙年春节庆典拉开了序幕,歌曲、舞蹈、古筝独奏、武术表演等25个节目轮番上阵,现场掌声连连。悠扬的古筝独奏《战台风》、节奏明快的《最炫民族风》、悠扬的童声合唱《蜗牛与黄鹂鸟》等,为所有来宾带来了新春喜悦;舞蹈、书法和国画三合一的节目《如愿》,展现了中国文化的魅力;专业水准的艺术体操表演和钢琴弹唱《星辰大海》令人赏心悦目。

     本次活动为远在异国他乡的中国人营造了欢乐祥和的节日氛围,也让越来越多的拉脱维亚人体验了中华文化的独特魅力。拉脱维亚大学孔子学院持续推动国际中文教育的发展,让汉语之花绽放在波罗的海之滨。
