Jointly organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, the Latvian Chinese Students Association, and the Riga Chinese Cultural Center, the Dragon Boat Festival event was held on June 15th local time. The event aimed to showcase the charm of Chinese culture and promote further development of friendship between China and Latvia. Approximately 70 guests from various fields participated in this unique Dragon Boat Festival celebration.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Tang Songgen underscored the close interconnection and the paramount significance of cultural exchange between China and Latvia. Mr. Valdis Seglins, Vice Rector of the University of Latvia, also delivered an ardently inspiring address, expressing sincere appreciation for the event. Director Wang Nan of Riga Chinese Culture Center, in her words of welcome, expressed eager anticipation and conveyed well wishes for the occasion.

Commencing with an enlightening narration, the event commenced with guests attentively listening to captivating stories about the Dragon Boat Festival, thus gaining profound insights into the historical and cultural underpinnings of this traditional festivity. Subsequently, mesmerizing cultural performances enhanced the ambiance, eliciting enthusiastic applause from the captivated audience.

The subsequent interactive sessions provided participants with the rare opportunity to personally partake in the art of crafting zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), savor the artistry of tea, acquire knowledge of Chinese knotting techniques, and delve into the artistry of Chinese painting. All attendees wholeheartedly engaged, fostering an environment of mutual learning and exchange, thereby gaining a profound appreciation for the quintessence of traditional Chinese craftsmanship and cultural skills.

The grand finale of the event featured a delightful Chinese-style dinner, wherein esteemed guests shared convivial conversations, deepening mutual understanding and fostering friendships among one another.

当地时间6月15日,拉脱维亚大学孔子学院、拉脱维亚留华同学会和里加中国文化中心共同举办了一场别开生面的端午节活动,旨在展现中华文化的魅力,推动中拉友谊的进一步发展。本次活动吸引了来自不同领域的约70位嘉宾参与。

唐松根大使在开场致辞中强调了中拉两国的紧密联系和文化交流的重要性。拉脱维亚大学副校长赛格林什先生也发表了热情洋溢的讲话,对此次活动的举办表示赞赏。里加中国文化中心主任王楠在欢迎辞中表达了对活动的期待和祝愿。
