“The Pig Year Paper-cutting Exhibition” celebrates the Chinese Spring Festival

From February 3rd to 16th, 2019, local time, the Latvia University Confucius Institute  launched a special paper-cut exhibition – “The Pig Year Paper-cutting Exhibition”. 2019 is the Year of the Pig in China. This paper-cut exhibition is also to celebrate the arrival of the Chinese New Year. This  “The Pig Year Paper-cutting Exhibition” was made by Autore Karina Jermaka (Karina), who regards China as her second hometown. She is obsessed with paper-cutting when she is studying in China.

The exhibition includes works such as “Four Seasons Peace”, “Good luck”, “Good luck and make more money”, “Lively Spring Festival”, “Year of the Pig”, “Happy Chinese New Year” and other works. The theme of the work is to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The zodiac cut by “Good luck” and “Good luck and make more money” – the image of the pig is very cute and lifelike. The dragon dance activity depicted in “Lively Spring Festival” is vivid.

“The Pig Year Paper-cutting Exhibition” is one of the series of Spring Festival activities of the Latvia University Confucius Institute. The people who came to visit were endless. They both enjoyed the wonderful art of paper-cutting and experienced the profound charm of Chinese culture.

当地时间2019年2月3日-16日,拉脱维亚大学孔子学院开展了特殊的剪纸展——“猪年新春剪纸展”。2019年是中国的猪年,此剪纸展也是为了庆祝中国新年的到来。本次“猪年新春剪纸展”的作者是Autore Karina Jermaka(卡琳娜),她将中国视为第二个故乡,在中国留学时醉心剪纸,潜心雕琢。

此次展览包括《四季平安》、《万事如意》、《运旺财旺》、《春节到真热闹》、《猪年大吉》、《新春快乐》等作品。作品均是欢庆新春、庆贺新年的应景之作。《万事如意》、《运旺财旺》所剪的生肖——猪的形象憨态可掬、栩栩如生。《春节到真热闹》所描绘的舞龙活动惟妙惟肖。

“猪年新春剪纸展”活动是拉脱维亚大学孔子学院春节活动系列之一,来参观的人络绎不绝,大家既欣赏了美妙绝伦的剪纸艺术,又体会了中国文化博大精深的魅力。
