2019 New Year’s Reception at Riga Technical University
当地时间1月31日，里加理工大学2019年新春招待会在该校主楼大礼堂举行。来自中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆、拉脱维亚外交部、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院、国家第三高级中学的嘉宾与里加理工大学师生，欢聚一堂，共庆新春佳节。
一场华丽的舞狮表演拉开了庆典的序幕，现场气氛十分活跃。
里加理工大学校长Leonīdu Ribicks教授在致辞中对现场各位嘉宾和师生的到来表示热烈欢迎并致以新春祝福，他表示里加理工大学与中国的合作稳步向前，成果突出并希望新的一年继续深化合作，共同发展。中国大使馆代办孙应来先生在致辞中向现场的各位致以节日问候和美好祝愿，对里加理工大学精心筹划的新春庆典表示赞赏和感谢，同时勉励在场的各位中国留学生刻苦学习，学有所成，努力奋斗，实现梦想。里加理工大学副校长Igors Tipans教授在致辞中从科研项目、交换生数量、学科交流等方面回顾了里加理工大学同中国合作院校所取得的合作成果，并对新的进一步合作充满期待。
在招待会上，大家一起观看了里加理工大学汉语兴趣班学生共同呈现的新春祝福短片,聆听了中国留学生用拉语讲解的中国新年和拉脱维亚立春,体验了独特的中国书法、变幻多姿的剪纸、吉祥喜庆的中国结和赏心悦目的茶艺,参与了有趣的灯谜竞猜，并品尝了美味的中国食物。大家在浓浓的新春氛围中，欢度这一美好的新春庆典。
Latvia local time on January 31, 2019 New Year’s Reception was held in the Grand Auditorium of Riga Technical University. The teachers and students of Riga Technical University and the guests from Chinese Embassy, Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, Riga State Gymnasium No. 3 got together to celebrate the event.
A gorgeous lion dance performance as an opening show quickly lighted site atmosphere.
Then Prof. Leonīdu Ribicks, Rector of Riga Technical University, gave a speech. He extended a warm welcome to the guests, teachers and students and expressed his wishes for the New Year. He said that Riga Technical University and China had a good cooperation and hoped to have further cooperation in 2019. Mr. Sun Yinglai, the Charge d’affaires of Chinese Embassy in Latvia, delivered a New Year greeting and best wishes in his speech. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to Riga Technical University for the well-planned New Year’s celebration, and encouraged Chinese students at RTU to study hard and pursue their dreams. Prof. Igors Tipans, Deputy rector of Riga Technical University, summarized the cooperation achievements between Riga Technical University and Chinese partner universities in terms of scientific research projects, the number of Chinese overseas students, and disciplines communication. He showed his confidence on the further cooperation in the future.
At the event, everyone watched the New Year blessing video which was prepared by RTU Chinese classes students and volunteer Chinese teacher. They expressed their new year wishes in Chinese. Then two Chinese students explained the Chinese Lunar New Year and Latvian Spring begins in Latvian. Besides, unique Chinese calligraphy, varied paper-cutting, auspicious Chinese knots, enjoyable tea ceremony, interesting Chinese and Latvian puzzles as well as tasty Chinese food were prepared for everyone. With the joyful and exciting atmosphere, everyone celebrated New Year together and had a very pleasant time.
