Jekabpils State Gymnasium Successfully Hosts China Study Abroad Seminar and “Appreciation of Tang and Song Poems” Lecture / 叶卡布皮尔斯中学中国留学研讨会暨“唐诗宋词欣赏”讲座成功举行

2025年1月17日，拉脱维亚叶卡布皮尔斯中学在叶卡布皮尔斯自治政府教育处的支持，拉脱维亚大学亚洲研究系Kaspars Kļaviņš教授的组织下，成功举办了一场有关中国留学的研讨会。出席活动的嘉宾有叶卡布皮尔斯自治政府教育处副处长Sarmīte Stikāne女士、拉脱维亚-中国友好协会（L.C.F.A.）成员Kaspars Kļaviņš教授和Valdis Segliņš教授、波罗的海长寿联盟—智能材料与技术能力中心理事会成员Uģis Klētnieks先生、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院外方院长贝德高教授，拉脱维亚大学中方院长何东教授及其夫人陶丽萍女士、RISEBA大学校长Lūcija Rutka 教授、RISEBA大学对外关系部主任Gaļina Zilgalve教授和维多利亚职业中等学校校长Andžela Dubinska女士。部分叶卡布皮尔斯中学教师及学生参加了活动。
当日上午10：00，Kaspars Kļaviņš教授宣布活动开始。活动首先连线了中国教育国际交流协会，协会高等教育合作部副部长周立东女士就去中国留学等相关问题进行的介绍。接下来，Kaspars Kļaviņš教授和Uģis Klētnieks先生就人工智能及医学类研究在中国的发展等主题进行了报告。
中午用餐时间过后，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院两位院长贝德高教授及何东教授向大家介绍了中国的唐诗宋词文化，他们分别用中、拉两种语言为大家朗诵了唐诗《离思（其四）》及宋词《念奴娇 赤壁怀古》并进行了赏析，贝德高教授还向大家分享了自己在翻译这些诗词时的心路历程。随后，活动嘉宾继续就去中国留学等相关问题向大家进行了多方面的介绍。
通过这次研讨会，学生们不仅深入了解了中国留学的机会与相关政策，也加深了对中国文化的认识与欣赏，这也为未来两国在教育、科研和文化等领域的合作奠定了更加坚实的基础。
On January 17, 2025, Jekabpils State Gymnasium successfully hosted a seminar on studying abroad in China, with the support of the Education Department of Jekabpils Municipality and organized by Professor Kaspars Kļaviņš from the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Latvia. The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Sarmīte Stikāne, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Jekabpils Municipality, Kaspars Kļaviņš and Valdis Segliņš, members of the Latvia-China Friendship Association (L.C.F.A.), Uģis Klētnieks, Council Member of the Baltic Alliance for Longevity – Smart Materials and Technology Competence Centre, Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, Latvian Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, Professor He Dong, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, and his wife Tao Liping, Professor Lūcija Rutka, President of RISEBA University, Professor Gaļina Zilgalve, Director of the Department of External Relations at RISEBA University, and Andžela Dubinska, Principal of Profesional Secondary School “VICTORIA”. A number of teachers and students from Jekabpils State Gymnasium attended the event.
The seminar officially began at 10:00 AM with an opening statement by Prof. Kaspars Kļaviņš. The event began with a live connection to the China Education Association for International Exchange, where Deputy Director of the Higher Education Cooperation Department, Ms. Zhou Lidong, introduced the opportunities and policies for studying abroad in China. Following this, Prof. Kaspars Kļaviņš and Mr. Uģis Klētnieks gave reports on the development of artificial intelligence and medical research in China.
After lunch, the two directors, Prof. Pēteris Pildegovičs and Prof. He Dong, introduced Chinese Tang and Song dynasty poetry. They recited the Tang poem “Li Si (No. 4)” and the Song lyric “Nian Nu Jiao: Red Cliff” in both Chinese and Latvian, providing an analysis of the poems. Prof. Pēteris Pildegovičs also shared his thoughts on the process of translating these poems. The event continued with further introductions and discussions on studying abroad in China.
Through this seminar, students not only gained a deeper understanding of the opportunities and policies for studying abroad in China but also enhanced their appreciation of Chinese culture. This event laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, research, and culture.
