On September 23,2023, Latvia’s Riga Cultures Secondary School held a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival cultural event, attracting the enthusiastic participation of over 60 students, parents, and teachers. The main leaders and guests present at the event include Mr. Tang Songgen, Chinese Ambassador to Latvia, and Chinese Embassy Counselor Mrs. Song Danhui, as well as Professor Shang Quanyu and Mrs. Zhang, Professor He Dong and Mrs.Tao, Deputy Principal Berzins of Riga Cultures Secondary School.
This event is hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, organized by Riga Cultures Secondary School, and co organized by the Confucius Institute of the University of Latvia. Ambassador Tang Songgen first delivered a speech. He believes that both China and Latvia are countries that value traditional culture; Language learning cannot be separated from cultural learning. Therefore, learning Chinese should also pay attention to the study of Chinese culture. He encourages more Latvian students to learn Chinese, learn Chinese well, and become ambassadors for promoting friendly cultural exchanges between China and Latvia in the future. Deputy Principal Berzins, expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Latvia and the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia for their support and assistance in the Confucius Classroom at Riga Cultures Secondary School,, which has made the pleasant sound of Chinese reading linger in Riga Cultures Secondary School. Later, Consul Zhao Peiyao told the traditional culture of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the beautiful legend of Chang’e flying to the moon with the help of multimedia, so that the guests on the scene had a deeper understanding of the culture of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Next came the exciting Chinese Tea-art, Guzheng performance, and Tai Chi performance. After enjoying the Chinese talent show, Mr. Jiang Bin, the embassy chef, demonstrated and guided everyone in making Suzhou style mooncakes. With the beautiful Chinese classical music, students and teachers actively participate in the experience activities, and enjoy traditional food such as mooncakes, dumplings, Spring rolls, etc. Throughout the entire event, the hall was filled with applause, and the guests were full of praise and interest in traditional Chinese culture and cuisine.

2023年9月23日，拉脱维亚里加文化中学举办了一场精彩的中秋文化活动，吸引了六十余位学生、家长和教师们的热情参与。出席活动的主要领导和嘉宾有，中国驻拉脱维亚大使唐松根先生、宋丹卉公参等，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院院长尚劝余教授及夫人、何东教授及夫人，里加文化中学副校长伯尔齐（Berzins）等。
本次活动是由中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆主办、里加文化中学承办、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院协办的。唐松根大使首先致辞。他认为，中国和拉脱维亚都是注重传统文化的国家；语言学习离不开文化学习。因此，学习汉语也要注重中国文化的学习。他鼓励更多的拉脱维亚学生学习汉语，学好汉语，将来做促进中拉文化友好交流的使者。伯尔齐副校长感谢中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆和拉脱维亚大学孔子学院对里加文化中学孔子课堂的支持和帮助，让琅琅的汉语之声萦绕在里加文化中学。随后，赵沛瑶领事借助多媒体，讲述了中秋节传统文化和嫦娥奔月的美丽传说，让现场嘉宾们对中秋节文化有了更深的了解。
接下来是精彩的中国茶艺、古筝演奏、太极表演。欣赏完中华才艺表演后，使馆大厨蒋彬先生演示并指导大家制作苏式月饼。伴随着优美的中国古典音乐，学生和老师们积极参与体验活动，津津有味地品尝月饼、饺子、春卷等传统美食。整个活动中，大礼堂热情的掌声此起彼伏——嘉宾们对中国传统文化以及美食赞不绝口，兴趣浓厚。
