The award ceremony of the “Yellow River Upstream Journey” competition was successfully held

Starting from February 20, 2023, the China Cultural Center in Riga has launched a five-week “The Journey to the Upstream of Yellow River” prize-winning reading competition on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. The purpose of this prize-winning quiz is to promote the basic geographical knowledge of the upper reaches of the Yellow River, tourist attractions, food and other cultural content.

As soon as the contest was launched, many Chinese learners actively participated. As of March 31, a total of 33 Chinese learners from four universities, three middle schools and three companies had submitted questionnaires. Among them, Facebook’s the number of clicks has exceeded the historical record. By consulting the questionnaire, we saw that when the learners answered questions about the scenic spots, delicacies, and special products of the Yellow River, they listed the Qarhan Salt Lake, Mangya Aiken Spring, Jinshan Grand Canyon in Tongguan County, Shandong Jiuzhuan Dachang, fish situation in the Yellow River Basin and other information. This fully demonstrates the great enthusiasm of our Chinese learners for Chinese learning, and also makes an important contribution to the exchange of tourism culture between China and Latvia.
