The Chinese language class at the LKA has opened

On November 17, 2022 Riga time, the Chinese language class at the LKA, a teaching site under the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, was officially opened. This is the first time in two years that Chinese classes are conducted in an offline mode, and the Chinese teacher is volunteer Shen Sishun.

The course at the LKA is divided into two classes, a university elective and an adult interest class, both of which are taught in an integrated format. The main task of the first class was to learn about China and the Chinese language. The students were very curious about the natural landscape of China and told Mr. Shen after the video that they would like to travel to China sometime. Immediately afterwards, the teacher and the students had a mutual introduction session, which not only allowed the students to get to know the teacher, but also allowed the teacher to understand why the students wanted to learn Chinese. Afterwards, Mr Shen introduced the composition of Chinese syllables and the main strokes of the Chinese characters so that they could feel the differences between the languages and invited the students to write the Chinese words “一, 十 and 大” on the blackboard so that they could grasp the mystery of the composition of Chinese characters. At the end of the class, the teacher gave each student a small gift that he or she had prepared and the students were very happy.

Both classes of the School of Culture have now officially started.
