The first Chinese class of Montessori Elementary School“Pētnieki” started successfully

On November 15, 2022, the first Chinese language class of this semester was held at Montessori Elementary School “Pētnieki”, and it was also the first Chinese language class in two years. Chinese volunteer teacher Chuanhui Bao is in charge of teaching the school’s Chinese language classes this semester.

Montessori Elementary School “Pētnieki” currently has 22 students enrolled in the Chinese language program and is divided into three classes based on the age of the students. Although it was the first time for the students to be exposed to the Chinese language class, they were all interested in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture, and the classroom atmosphere was very active.

During the lesson preparation stage, Ms. Bao edited and recorded an animated version of the short video of self-introduction according to the age of the students. In the ice-breaking session at the beginning of the lesson, Ms. Bao’s short video received positive feedback from the students and quickly brought the teacher and students closer together. When Ms. Bao told the students that the pronunciation of “bào” means “hug” in Chinese, the students went up to the stage and hugged Ms. Bao, which was very touching! Then, Ms. Bao introduced the Chinese food culture to the students, and they were very interested in it. After that, Mr. Bao gave the students business cards designed by himself for them to fill out, and the students introduced their names and interests in turn.

The first Chinese class ended in a relaxed and happy atmosphere, but the seeds of learning Chinese have been quietly planted in the students’ hearts. Let’s look forward to the flower of Hanyu blooming in Montessori Elementary School “Pētnieki”！

拉脱维亚时间2022年11月15日，蒙特梭利小学迎来了本学期的第一次汉语课程，这次课程亦是该校两年来的第一节汉语课。汉语志愿者教师鲍传惠负责教授该校本学期的汉语课程。

蒙特梭利探索小学目前共有22名学生参与汉语课程，学校根据学生的年龄将其分成三个班级。虽然学生都是第一次接触汉语课堂，但大家对学习汉语、了解中国文化都充满兴趣，课堂气氛十分活跃。

在备课阶段，鲍老师根据教学对象的年龄特征剪辑并录音制作了动画版自我介绍短视频。在教学开始的破冰环节，鲍老师制作的短视频受到了学生的积极反馈，迅速拉近了老师和学生的距离。当鲍老师告诉学生“bào”这个发音在中国有“拥抱”的意思时，学生们纷纷上台拥抱了鲍老师，非常令人感动！接着，鲍老师向同学们介绍了中国的美食文化，同学们都非常感兴趣。之后，鲍老师给同学们发放自己设计的名片卡让同学们填写，同学们依次介绍了自己的名字和兴趣爱好。

第一次汉语课在轻松愉快的氛围中结束了，但学习汉语的种子已经悄然在学生的心中埋下。让我们一起期待瀚宇之花在蒙特梭利探索小学盛开！
