华南师范大学(下称华南师大)作为拉脱维亚大学孔子学院(下称拉大孔院)的中方合作院校,始终致力于为拉大孔院输送优秀汉语教师志愿者。2020年,拉大孔院即将迎来第9批志愿者。但与往年不同的是,由于新冠疫情影响,今年志愿者的派出工作也迎来了巨大的挑战。

随着2019-2020学年第8批赴拉脱维亚汉语教师志愿者圆满完成教学任务并陆续卸任回国,2020-2021学年第9批汉语教师志愿者的派出准备工作也在有序地进行。为了能让汉语教师志愿者在派出前得到有效的防护,华南师大筹备了一批防护服、护目镜、KN95口罩、防护手套等爱心物资,这批物资由华南师大国际处孔子学院管理办公室叶晓霓老师具体操办。为了能让这批爱心物资准确无误地送到每位汉语教师志愿者手中,叶老师耐心细致地确认了每位汉语教师志愿者的联系方式和地址,并最终通过邮寄的方式将这份爱心送出。

同时为了让新一批汉语教师志愿者能够更早更及时地了解拉国的教学情况,华南师大还为大家邮寄了《拉脱维亚汉语教学研究》一书。该书是为了庆祝拉脱维亚大学建校100周年而编著的,其主编为拉脱维亚大学孔子学院中方院长尚劝余、拉方院长贝德高及公派教师王琼子。该书涉及拉脱维亚汉语教学、文化教学及教学管理等内容。

收到这批物资之后,2020年赴拉汉语教师志愿者纷纷通过微信等社交媒体表达了对华南师范大学及拉脱维亚大学孔子学院的感谢。此外,第9批志愿者队长朱柏帆及副队长牛爽还通过网络会议的方式组织大家进行学习,大家在讨论的过程中踊跃发言,志愿者老师杜灏说:“非常感谢华南师大对志愿者们的关心,让我们在派出前感受到了这个大家庭的温暖。《拉脱维亚汉语教学研究》这本书很细致地展现了拉脱维亚的汉语教学情况,为我们后续的汉语教学提供了很多新的思路,与其说这是一本论文集,不如说这是一本实用的工具书。”另外,志愿者老师王璐表示,作为一名留任志愿者,在拉国疫情期间已经收到过华南师大邮寄的口罩等爱心物资,在第二个任期开始之前,又再次感受到了华南师大的温暖,特别感谢华南师大为每一个汉语教师志愿者安全赴任“保驾护航”,由衷地感谢母校!

新冠肺炎疫情牵动着全国人民和世界各国人民的心。疫情面前,2020年注定不平凡,也注定充满了感动。拉脱维亚大学孔子学院第9批汉语教师志愿者怀着感恩的心希望疫情早日结束,可以顺利赴任。在华南师大和拉大孔院的关心下,我们相信,阳光终将驱散阴霾!

South China Normal University, as the Chinese partner university of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, has always been committed to providing excellent volunteer Chinese teachers for Latvia. In 2020, the 9th batch of volunteer Chinese teachers will come to Confucius Institute at University of Latvia. However, unlike previous years, due to the impact of the COVID-19, this year witnesses an unexpected challenge to the new volunteer Chinese teachers.

With the 8th batch of volunteer Chinese teachers in Latvia successfully completing their volunteer services and returming to their hometown in sequence, the preparation work for the 9th batch of volunteer Chinese teachers is also in progress orderly. In order to provide effective protecttion to the volunteer Chinese teachers before they are dispatched, SCNU has prepared a batch of caring materials such as protective clothing, goggles, kn95 masks, gloves and so on. Ms Ye Xiaoni from Confucius Institute Administration Office in SCNU takes responsibility for it. In order to make the caring materials reach to each volunteer Chinese teacher accurately and timely, Ms Ye patiently and meticulously confirmed the contact information and address of each volunteer Chinese teacher, and finally send them by Express Mail Service.

At the same time, in order to let the new batch of volunteer Chinese teachers to learn about the teaching situation in Latvia earlier and more timely, SCNU also mailed the book Research of Chinese Teaching in Latvia.This book was written to celebrate the 100th anniversary of University of Latvia. The editors in chief are Shang Quanyu, Chinese Director of Confucius Institute of University of Latvia, Peteris Pildegovics, Latvian Director, and Wang Qiongzi, Government-sponsored Chinese Teacher. The book covers important issues, such as Chinese language teaching, Chinese culture teaching, Chinese teaching management in Latvia, etc.

As soon as receiving these materials, all volunteer Chinese teachers expressed their gratitude to SCNU and Confucius Institute at University of Latvia through wechat and other social media. In addition, Zhu Bofan, the leader of the 9th batch of volunteers, and Niu Shuang, the vice leader, also organized all volunteer Chinese teachers to share their ideas through the way of online meeting, and everyone spoke enthusiastically during the discussion. Du Hao, one of the volunteer teachers, said, “Thank you SCNU very much for your concerns and care of all volunteer Chinese teachers, which makes us feel the warmth of this big family even before leaving for Latvia. Research of Chinese Teaching in Latvia shows the situation of Latvian Chinese language teaching in detail, which provides us with many new ideas for the follow-up Chinese language teaching. We should say it is indeed a practical reference book, rather than a mere collection of papers.” Besides, another volunteer teacher  Wang Lu said that as a volunteer Chinese teacher who has worked in Latvia for one year, she had received the masks and other caring materials mailed by SCNU. Before the second term of office, she felt the warmth of SCNU again. She sincerely thanked her alma mater, SCNU, for their concern for each volunteer Chinese teacher.

The COVID-19 outbreak has touched the hearts of people all over China and the whole world. In the face of the epidemic, the beginning of 2020 is destined to be extraordinary and full of touching stories.The 9th batch of volunteer Chinese teachers of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia hoped with gratitude that the epidemic would come to an end as soon as possible and that they could go to their teaching posts smoothly. With the concern of SCNU and Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, we believe that the haze will finally be dispelled by the sunshine.
