“One World One Family” ——The 17th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Competition in Latvia was Successfully Concluded

当地时间2020年6月5日至7日,在中国国家汉办(HANBAN)“汉语桥”基金支持下,主题为“天下一家”的拉脱维亚第十七届“汉语桥”中文比赛成功举行。由于新冠疫情的影响,为保证参赛选手和工作人员的身体健康,本届汉语桥比赛采用了线上比赛的形式。此次比赛由中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆主办,拉脱维亚大学孔子学院承办,拉脱维亚大学人文学院、里加工业大学、交通与电信大学、道加瓦皮尔斯大学、雷泽克内大学、维泽梅大学、拉脱维亚文化学院、文茨皮尔斯大学、利耶帕亚大学、里加文化中学、里加第34中学、斯密尔提恩中学、叶尔加瓦斯比杜拉中学、克拉斯拉瓦中学、叶卡布皮尔斯中学、里加道加瓦河口中学、蒙特梭利探索小学、新马露白小学、拉脱维亚武术协会(里加武术功夫体育学校)协办。拉脱维亚大学孔子学院中方院长尚劝余教授、比赛评审团、汉语教师及参赛选手90余人出席了本次比赛。

今年参加汉语桥比赛的选手共63人,其中,大学成人组参赛选手19名,中学生组28名,小学生组16名。选手们围绕自我介绍、主题演讲、中国知识问答、才艺展示等环节进行了激烈角逐。由于本次比赛在疫情期间举行,所以比赛形式由往年的现场展示改为视频选拔。参赛选手需提交主题演讲视频和才艺展示视频,个别组选手需在线参与线上问答环节,最后评审团综合选手所提交的自我介绍、主题演讲、才艺展示的视频和选手线上问答环节的表现进行打分。在线上问答环节中,选手们积极参与,踊跃发言;在才艺展示中,选手们可谓是八仙过海,各显神通。

最后,来自拉脱维亚大学的爽慈敏、来自里加工业大学的李斯和来自拉脱维亚大学人文学院的格蕾分别荣获了大学成人高级组、中级组和初级组的一等奖,来自里加第34中学的安娜、来自里加古典中学的达娜和来自里加自由华尔道夫学校的高乐言分别荣获了中学高级组、中级组和初级组的一等奖,来自里加第40中学的丹尼尔、来自里加安尼穆梅扎中学的丹尼斯和来自里加古典学校的叶明目分别荣获了小学高级组、中级组和初级组的一等奖。大学成人高级组第一名将代表拉脱维亚前往中国参加第十九届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛,中学生高级组第一、第二名将分别代表拉脱维亚前往中国参加第十三届“汉语桥”世界中学生中文比赛,并有机会获得由中国国家汉办提供的2020-2021年度为期一学期的孔子学院奖学金。大学成人高级组第二名将代表拉脱维亚前往中国观摩第十九届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛,与世界各国选手和汉语学习者进行交流互动。但往届赴华参赛选手和往届赴华观摩选手不得以同一身份赴华参赛或观摩。

作为波罗的海汉语教学的中心,拉脱维亚的汉语教学近年来开展得有声有色,汉语推广事业蒸蒸日上。此次第十七届“汉语桥”中文比赛的顺利举行进一步增加了拉脱维亚人民对中国的了解,加强了中拉两国间的文化交流,增进了两国人民之间的友谊。

From June 5th to 7th, 2020, with the support of the Chinese Bridge Foundation of the State Hanban of China (HANBAN), the 17th Latvian Chinese Bridge Competition with the theme of one Family in the World was successfully held. Due to the influence of novel coronavirus’s epidemic situation, in order to ensure the health of the contestants and staff, this Chinese Bridge Competition adopted the form of online competition. The competition is hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Latvia and the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, co-organized by the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University, Transport and Telecommunication Institute, Daugavpils University, Rezekne Academy of Technologies, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Latvian Academy of Culture, and Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, Liepaja University, Riga Culture Secondary School, Riga No.34 Secondary School, Smiltene Secondary School, Jelgava Spīdola State Gymnasium, Kraslava State Gymnasium, Jekabpils State Gymnasium, Riga Daugavgriva Secondary School, Montessori Elementary School, Jaunmarupe Primary School and the Latvian Wushu Association (Riga Wushu Kung Fu Sports School). More than ninety people attended the competition, including Professor Shang Quanyu, Directors of LUCI, the  jury of the competition, Chinese teachers and contestants.

A total of sixty three contestants took part in the Chinese Bridge Competition this year, including nineteen in the adult group, twenty eight in the secondary school group and sixteen in the elementary school group. The contestants competed fiercely on self-introduction, keynote speeches, Q&A session on Chinese knowledge, talent shows and so on. As the competition was held during the epidemic situation, the form of the competition has been changed from live performance in previous years into selecting from videos. Contestants were required to submit keynote speech videos and talent show videos, and a few specific groups of contestants were required to participate in the online Q & A session. At last, the jury scored the performance of the self-introduction, keynote speech, talent show videos submitted by the contestants and online Q & A session. In the online Q & A session, the contestants actively participated and spoke enthusiastically. In the talent show, the contestants demonstrated their talents all out.

Finally, the students from University of Latvia Siliņēviča Diana, Riga Technical University Rimašs Artūrs and Faculty of Humanities, University of Latvia Galeja Madara Sabīne won the first prize in the adult senior group, intermediate group and junior group respectively, while those from Riga Secondary School No.34 Ņikitina Anna , Riga Classical Gymnasium Sorokina Dana and Ādaži Free Waldorf School Gross Aleksandrs won the first prize in the senior group, intermediate group and junior group of secondary schools,respectively. Those from Riga Secondary School No.40 Riga Lubeks Van Deniels, from Anninmuiza Gymnasium Petrovs Deniss and from Riga Classical Gymnasium Jevsejevs Artjoms , won the first prize in the senior, intermediate and junior group of primary schools, respectively. The contestant who won the first prize in the adult senior group will participate in the 19th “Chinese Bridge” World Chinese Competition for College Students in China on behalf of Latvia.The contestants who won the first and second prize in the secondary school group will respectively participate in the 13th “Chinese Bridge” World Chinese Competition for Secondary School Students in China on behalf of Latvia.They will gain the opportunity to win a Confucius Institute Scholarship for one semester offered by HANBAN in 2020-2021. The contestant who won the second prize in the adult senior group will go to China to watch the 19th “Chinese Bridge” World Chinese Competition for College Students on behalf of Latvia, and communicate with other contestants and Chinese learners from all over the world. However, previous contestants and spectators in China will not be allowed to compete or watch in China in the same identity.

As the center of Chinese teaching in the Baltic region, Chinese teaching in Latvia has been carried out vigorously in recent years, and the promotion of Chinese has been booming with each passing day. The success of the 17th “Chinese Bridge” Competition has further increased the Latvian people’s understanding of China, strengthened cultural exchanges between China and atvia, and enhanced the friendship between the peoples of two countries.
