Ventspils University celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival cultural event

中秋节是中国重要的传统节日之一。为了加深学生对中国文化的理解,汉语教师志愿者林颖娴于当地时间9月17至18日,在文茨皮尔斯大学举行了庆中秋的文化活动。

首先,汉语教师朗诵《水调歌头-明月几时有》,使学生领略中国诗歌之美,并向学生讲解诗歌“但愿人长久,千里共婵娟”寄予的情感,学生大为触动。随后,向学生们介绍了中秋节的起源、历史、传统习俗,并通过生动有趣的图片、视频,向学生讲述了“嫦娥奔月”、“后羿射日”、“吴刚伐桂”、“玉兔捣药”等神话故事。在学生对中秋节有了初步了解之后,教师邀请学生共同品尝中秋月饼,并学习“吃月饼”、“中秋节快乐”等实用词汇。最后,师生共同制作中国灯笼,互祝中秋节快乐,汉语课在一片欢声笑语中画上了圆满的句号。

通过这两日的庆中秋文化活动,学生们对中秋节有了深刻的了解,并在浓郁的文化氛围中学到了许多汉语知识,学生们纷纷表示参加此类活动非常开心。

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. In order to improve students’ understanding of Chinese culture, Chinese teacher Lin Yingxian held a cultural event to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival at Ventspils University from September 17th to 18th.

First of all, the Chinese teacher recited the “Water Melody”, which enabled the students to appreciate the beauty of Chinese poetry and to explain to students the emotions of the poem “I hope that people will last forever, thousands of miles together”, and the students are greatly touched. Later, the Chinese teacher introduced the origins, history and traditional customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and told the students through the vivid and interesting pictures and videos, “The Goddess Chang’e flying to the moon”, “Houyi shooting the sun”, “Wu Gang cutting trees”. After the students have a preliminary understanding of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the teacher invite students to taste the moon cakes and learn practical words such as “eat moon cake” and “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival”. In the end, teacher and students produced Chinese lanterns, wishing each other a happy Mid-Autumn Festival, and the Chinese class was completed in a happy ending.

Through the two-day Mid-Autumn Festival cultural events, the students have a deep understanding of the Mid-Autumn Festival and have learned a lot of Chinese knowledge in a rich cultural atmosphere. The students have expressed their happiness in participating in such events.
