Roll it, Dumplings!

Local time on May 31， 15:30 pm, a dumpling making experience activity “Move Hands, Open Mouth ” was hold by Chinese volunteer teacher Lin Jie at Montessori Elementary School“Petnieki” which is one of Chinese programmes belong to LUCI. The participants of this activity were children who came from Chinese beginning level class.

Before the formal experience, the Chinese teacher introduced the origin, meaning of dumplings and the time to eat dumplings to children. For them, to compare with teacher, the white dough and rolling pin were more attractive. After learning cultural knowledge of dumplings, the children couldn’t wait to pick up dough and rolling pin to create their own dumplings, there was a variety of styles like long strip, flat type, conical and so on.

After a while, dumplings were done. The little foodies enjoyed the fruits of their labor with pleasure. After eating, they took some booty to parents.

The activity completed successfully with the appointment of ”teacher, can we make meat stuffed dumplings next time? ”.
