Holding your Hands with Sunset, Experience Chinese Culture with Love

Local time on May 12 at 3 pm, An event called “Understanding China, Experiencing Culture” was kicked off at the Latvian National Library. The event was organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, the Latvian National Library and the Baltic-Slavic Cultural Association.

The highlight of this event was that the participants were mostly rich experienced elderly people. Faceing the ancient mysterious Chinese culture, they looked forward to get a different cultural life experience. The event consisted of “paper cutting”, “making lanterns”, “painting Peking Opera” three parts. Before the formal experience, Chinese teachers introduced the Chinese paper-cut, lanterns, opera face history and cultural meaning to students. After understanding the meaning behind the items, the students could not wait to pick up the tools and materials to make their own Chinese objects.Lifelike Peking Opera, oriental symbolic lanterns, magnificent paper-cutting , those work of arts showed the elderly people full and happy amateur cultural life.

After the event, students were full of happiness and fought to take photos with their works . At this moment, a cross-country, across the years of cultural activities successfully completed.
