This activity was hosted by Chinese teachers Ms Dong Fang and Ms Zeng Rong, consisting of three partsintroduction, performance and tea-tasting. First of all, the Chinese teacher introduced origin of Chinese tea, different types of tea, tips of making tea, tea etiquette and customs in different areas. Two teachers revealed Chinese aspiration about harmony between human being and nature through explaining Chinese character “茶”. Then two teachers cooperated with each other, one was to be the performer, another was to be the explainer. The performer handled Chinese exquisite tea set smoothly with her dexterous hands. Then tea-leaf and water were blended and the finely-made tea flowed freely into tea cups. The fragrance of tea brought the magnificent atmosphere to everybody, and all audiences felt the charming of Chinese tea ceremony. Oolong tea making and Yunan Dianhong Black tea making are performed one after another. After the performance, all savored the refreshing tea juice together.

With increasing communication between China and Latvia, Radisson Blu Hotel in Latvia has a high expectation on the market provided by Chinese visitors. The Economic and Commercial Counsellors Office of the Embassy of China in Latvia recommended LUCI for arranging series of Chinese courses to meet the need of Radisson Blu Hotel. All employees in hotel said that they learned a lot from all courses and knew how to serve better for Chinese guests.

This is the first cooperation between LUCI and company with global influence to popularize Chinese culture in Latvia. As Counsellor Liu once said, such kind of activity is to “facilitate culture exchange through business, and facilitate business through culture exchange”.
