Latvia Local time at 16 o’clock on May 30, 2016, Volunteer Chinese teacher from Confucius Classroom in Rezekne University held a tea culture lecture at Rezekne Youth Library

The lecture was divided into two parts, volunteer Chinese teacher Liang Mingxuan first gave a lecture about knowledge of tea culture, introducing the origin and development of tea,then the importance of tea in the hearts of Chinese people. Followed by is the China’s top ten tea and their categories. Finally, she told the audience the different customs and types of tea from Chinese and all over the world,so that everyone can have a better understanding of tea.

The second part was the demonstration of tea ceremony. Teacher Liang first showed the process of making the tea TieGuanYin to the audience,later,she invited the children to perform on stage to experience the tea ceremony. Step by step , under the guidance of Chinese teacher, children have learned how to make tea and serve it to the audience. They were praised by the audience.

The population in the Rezekne is only 20,000, but the local people are very interested in Chinese culture, many parents hope that there will be more lectures or activities about Chinese culture in Youth Library in the future, so that children can have the opportunity to learn more Chinese culture.
