Confucius Classroom at Rezekne University held a Chinese cuisine culture activity

Latvia local time at 13:00 ,on 13th December,2015, at the 4th floor of Rezekne university dormitory, a Chinese cuisine culture activity was under going with laughter, this event not only attracted a lot of students who are learning Chinese in the Rezekne University, but also attracted international students and volunteer teachers from other countries .Some 30 people took part in it.

Before this activity, the Chinese volunteer teacher Liang Mingxuan had introduced the origin of dumplings and some related cultural stories in the classroom, making everyone know some traditional Chinese culture about dumplings, she also played a video about how to make dumplings. So at the beginning of the activity, one student came up to knead the dough with teacher Liang together, then waited for the dough Leavened. After the dough was Leavened, people picked up the rolling pin, learning to roll the dumpling skin ,then put the fillings in, and sealed it, a dumpling was completed! The youngest participant is the son of Antra,who is responsible for the Chinese learning program in Rezekne University, even though he is so young , this little boy was rolling the dumpling skin and making dumplings so seriously! Finally, students and teachers from different countries made their unique style dumplings , less than half an hour, several delicated dumplings were made. When waiting for the dumplings bolied, Teacher Liang showed everyone how to cook traditional Chinese cuisine cooking in live , and pretty soon, fried eggs with tomatoes, stir-fried celery and carrot with Fungus, stir-fried potato with vinegar , stir-fried cabbage with Chinese dry pepper, homemade cola chicken wings dishes were done, many students were surprised that cooking chicken wings with cola, but when tasting it , they were full of praise.

Finally,  people were tasting dumplings and homemade tasting Chinese dishes, while talking about Chinese food culture from their own views and understanding, international students and volunteer teachers have also introduced their own characteristics cuisine later. In the midst of laughter, this “out of the classroom” Chinese cuisine culture activity came to a perfect end.
