The “Panda” lecture and culture experience was held at Confucius classroom at Rezekne University

Latvia Local time at 16:30 on 25th May, 2016, the theme of “Panda” lecture and culture experience was held at Confucius classroom at Rezekne University.

Volunteer Chinese teacher Liang Mingxuan first displayed several photos of pandas to the students , then began to introduce this China’s national treasure. She showed the main habitats of panda in China at first, and then introduced that the existing panda is an ancient rare species, it’s estimated that only 1,000 wild  pandas on earth which belong to protected animals. But with the protection of Chinese government, the numbers in captivity has increased in recent years. Chinese people like this cute panda and always consider it as a “friendship ambassador” between China and many countries. Panda was the mascot of 1990 Beijing Asian Games,also one of the mascots of 2008 Beijing Olympics .

After the of knowledge about panda, she showed a lot of cartoon images about panda, so students can not help falling in love with this cute animal.Then she played the theme song of “Kung Fu Panda 3”, everyone was amused by this cute cartoon image with laughter.

At last, the Chinese teacher taught everyone the paper cutting and Chinese painting of Panda,, students were working seriously to finish the art works. After this cultural event, everyone had a better understanding on this lovely China’s national treasure.
