2025 UN Chinese Language Day and the 22nd Chinese Bridge Competition in Latvia were successfully held / 拉脱维亚2025年国际中文日暨第22届汉语桥比赛在里加成功举办

当地时间2025年5月8日至9日，2025年“国际中文日暨汉语桥比赛”在拉脱维亚大学小礼堂顺利举行。本次活动由中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆主办、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院承办，协办单位包括拉脱维亚大学人文学院等多个孔子课堂和教学点、拉脱维亚留华同学会、里加中国文化中心等。中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆唐松根大使、拉脱维亚大学副校长Enno Ence、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院外方院长贝德高教授、中方院长何东教授及夫人陶丽萍女士、中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆殷铎金领事、里加中国文化中心周斌主任及夫人周爱莲女士、留华同学会会长卡琳娜女士（开幕式主持人）、新华社驻拉首席记者陈玉芬女士等领导与嘉宾，以及拉脱维亚各地中小学及高校的教师、学生及中文爱好者出席并参与了本次活动，现场气氛热烈。

唐松根大使在开幕式上致辞，他充分肯定了“联合国中文日”“汉语桥”在促进中拉文化交流、加深青年人相互理解方面的重要作用。Enno Ence副校长在致辞中肯定了汉语桥活动在促进中拉双方交流中的影响。贝德高院长和何东院长共同发言，他们强调了“汉语桥”是展示学生中文学习成果的重要平台，也是一座促进中拉文化交流的桥梁，并代表孔子学院感谢所有评委和工作人员的辛勤付出。

开幕式后，活动正式拉开帷幕。参赛选手们精心打扮仪态大方，风采各异。比赛现场精彩纷呈，有的弹奏中国传统乐器古筝，有的深情演唱中国流行歌曲，有的展示传统舞蹈的魅力与柔美，还有的挥毫泼墨、现场展示书法技艺，更有选手现场为中国经典电影片段配音，生动演绎人物情感，令人耳目一新。比赛内容丰富、形式多样，充分展现了选手们对汉语学习的热情以及对中华文化的深入理解。

经过两天紧张而激烈的角逐，本次“汉语桥”比赛于5月9日下午圆满落幕。最终，爱玛、王芯雅等九位选手凭借出色的表现从53名参赛选手中脱颖而出，荣获各组别的冠军，赢得了评委与观众的高度评价。

From May 8 to 9, 2025, local time, the 2025 “UN Chinese Language Day and Chinese Bridge Competition” was successfully held in the small auditorium at the main building of the University of Latvia. The event was hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Latvia and organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia. Co-organizers included the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Latvia and other Confucius classrooms and teaching sites, the Latvian Alumni Association in China, and the Riga China Cultural Center. Ambassador Tang Songgen of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, Enno Ence, Vice President of the University of Latvia, Pro. Peteris Pildegovics, the director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia from Latvian side, Professor He Dong, the director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Chinese side, and his wife Ms. Tao Liping, Consul Yin Duojin of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, Director Zhou Bin of the Riga China Cultural Center and his wife Ms. Zhou Ailian, President of the Chinese Alumni Association in China, Ms. Karina Jermaka (host of the opening ceremony) , Ms. Chen Yufen, Chief Correspondent of Xinhua News Agency in Latvia, as well as teachers, students and Chinese language enthusiasts from primary, secondary schools and colleges across Latvia attended and participated in the event, creating a lively atmosphere.

Ambassador Tang Songgen delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He fully affirmed the important role of “United Nations Chinese Language Day” and “Chinese Bridge” in promoting cultural exchanges between China and Latvia and deepening mutual understanding among young people. Vice President Enno Ence affirmed the influence of Chinese Bridge activities in promoting exchanges between China and Latvia. Director Pildegovics and Director He Dong spoke together. They emphasized that “Chinese Bridge” is an important platform for displaying students’ Chinese learning achievements and a bridge to promote cultural exchanges between China and Latvia. On behalf of the Confucius Institute, they thanked all the judges and staff for their hard work.

After the opening ceremony, the event officially kicked off. The contestants dressed up with elegant manners and unique styles. The contestants showed their achievements of Chinese learning, with some playing the traditional Chinese instrument Guzheng, some singing Chinese pop songs, some showing the charm and beauty of traditional dance, and some splashing ink and showing calligraphy skills on the spot. Some contestants even dubbed clips of classic Chinese movies on the spot, vividly interpreting the emotions of the characters, which was refreshing. The competition was rich in content and diverse in form, fully demonstrating the contestants’ enthusiasm for learning Chinese and their in-depth understanding of Chinese culture.

After two days of intense and fierce competition, the “Chinese Bridge” competition came to a successful conclusion on the afternoon of May 9. In the end, nine contestants including Aleksandra Sokolova and Albina Puško stood out from 53 contestants with their outstanding performances, won the championship in each group, and obtained high praise from the judges and the audience.
